Hotfix update: 0.1.1 + OSX builds


Version 0.1.1 has been released. Here's the changelog:

Gameplay

  • Added void-out planes, and a very rudimentary checkpoint system.
  • Water and lava now send you back from whence you came (sort of, the checkpoint system is bad.)
  • Added an extra pillar near the start of the map to prevent the player from being able to simply walk around the first slide gate.
  • Restarting the game no longer gives the player every ability.
  • Increased timing window for the grounded double/triple jumps by about 5 frames. This value is likely to be toned back down slightly later.
  • Temporarily disabled the stomp ability, as it currently serves very little practical function, and it usually just got in the way for the people I saw play the game. Likely to return in an altered form later down the line.

Misc.

  • Added an actual settings menu.
  • Can change windowed resolutions, v-sync mode, turn on/off interpolated scaling, set render resolution, and more.
  • Added option to invert camera X/Y movement. Previous default counts as inverted.
  • Settings are now saved when applied, and loaded when the game starts.
  • If the settings file can’t be found, or can’t be parsed, then the game will create a new settings file with the defaults.
  • Slightly altered lighting, as areas with shadow previously appeared as completely black on integrated graphics, making the cave area virtually impossible to reach. Lighting will still look wrong on integrated graphics, but it’s no longer unplayable.


The next update will also be very small, but important. Planned features include rebindable controls, and sounds.
